Chasing Darkness

I've been running in circles of day and night
chasing darkness, fleeing light
drowning sorrow, soaking pain
forget tomorrow, and living in vain
escape the torment
of selfless doubt
embrace the moments
you want to shout
the seconds tick by
our shadows float
on cloudless winter skies
through tears we sometimes cry
and past and present collide
future is unspoken
remarkable shares of grief
are submerged deep within my soul
there is no foreboding
